Herzog & de Meuron’s  fascination with the traditional craftsmanship of wood turning has culminated in a vast and eclectic family of shapes. The simple and practical form of the coathanger lent itself as a focus of these explorations, and this later expanded to the world of cupboard and door handles, offering a softer and warmer experience for everyday use. The resulting selection of coathangers and door handles made available in our shop offer a diverse range of shapes, sizes and solutions to suit their environment and represent our project favourites. Turned from a block of wood in one single movement, they come in three available finishes.

The Coathanger was developed in collaboration with Mario Meier, whose artistic approach to wood turning resulted in a unique form of stacked cones, allowing several different items to be hung on one hook.

Three high-quality finishes are available which have subtle textures and natural hues. The oiled finish is tinted with a warm, rich, earthy colour tone. The mat lacquer finish is developed to seal and protect the wood but still allow the natural wood grain, look and touch of unfinished wood to remain. The black lacquer stain finish offers a refined surface with deeply saturated colour protection.

Available in Oak Oiled, Oak Lacquered or Oak Black Stained

Dimensions:
S: 5.8 x 5.8 x 10 cm
